Money Market Commentary : November 2025

SRBI yields have risen, which we view as one of Bank Indonesia’s measures to limit further depreciation pressure on the rupiah. Meanwhile, bank deposit rates remain low, although some banks may raise rates toward year-end for financial reporting purposes. Overall money-market yields remain subdued and are expected to stay at low levels heading into the new year, consistent with expectations that monetary policy still has room for further easing in the remainder of the year.

The recent upward adjustment in SRBI yields, combined with the potential increase in deposit rates toward year-end, could provide a tactical opportunity for money-market portfolio management, as reinvestment rates may become more attractive than before. We continue to believe that monetary conditions retain room for additional easing into 2026, making current money-market yields relatively appealing compared with the prospect of lower yields in the years ahead.
