Mandiri Investasi, Pegadaian, and Deutsche Bank Form Partnership

Jakarta, 8 December 2025 – PT Mandiri Manajemen Investasi (Mandiri Investasi) has strengthened its preparation for the launch of its Sharia Gold Exchange-Traded Fund (Sharia Gold ETF), a physical gold–backed investment product, through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Pegadaian and Deutsche Bank on Monday (08/12). The agreement marks a strategic milestone ahead of the ETF’s planned launch in early 2026.

Under the MoU, Pegadaian is formally appointed as the Bullion Bank responsible for providing and storing the physical gold underlying the Sharia Gold ETF. This role ensures availability, security, and proper governance of the gold required for the ETF structure. Selfie Dewiyanti, Director of Marketing, Sales and Product Development at PT Pegadaian, emphasized the company’s commitment. “Langkah ini menjadi bagian dari upaya kami mendukung pemerintah memperkuat ekosistem industri emas nasional serta memperluas layanan emas bagi masyarakat,” she said.

Deutsche Bank joins as the Custodian Bank that will administer the assets and transactions of the Sharia Gold ETF. With a global track record in managing securities-based and gold-backed ETFs, its involvement is expected to enhance investor confidence. “Dengan pengalaman global dan infrastruktur yang kuat, kami memastikan pengadministrasian Reksa Dana dilakukan sesuai standar tertinggi demi menjaga kepercayaan investor serta mendukung perkembangan industri pasar modal,” stated Samir Shivaji Dhamankar, Head of Corporate Bank Indonesia and Head of Trust & Securities Services ASEAN at Deutsche Bank.

Ernawan Rahmat Salimsyah, CFA, Director of Mandiri Investasi, explained that the MoU marks the final stage of preparation ahead of the upcoming OJK regulation governing gold-backed ETFs. The ETF will be supported by pure physical gold and structured in accordance with Sharia principles under Fatwa DSN MUI No. 163/DSN-MUI/VII/2025, while offering liquidity and ease of trading on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Through this collaboration, Mandiri Investasi is increasingly positioned to introduce a Sharia Gold ETF that is efficient, transparent, and aligned with the needs of modern investors.
